The state appraiser said his was off by at least $75,000. But Hawthorne Abstract Corp who did all the damage to us gets off free, because no one controls Hawthorne. This appraiser even had an office at Hawthorne.. WHY? This illegal mortgage has 30 errors, blank spaces, forged name and false information on it, BUT it went through. Mortgage IT said Hawthorne was grossly negligent in preparing the loan.Only Mortgage IT gave them the loan. But no one would help. I don't want anyone else to suffer like we are.

Re: Mortgage fraud increases in 2008

hiya- I'm in foreclosure now. ugh! Iam disabled with MS and my husband was just recently declared disable too!
We need to modify and I have already gotten an approval - but, was wondering if I should go with a modification company - mine drops my interest level from l2 l/2 to 5 for 5 years - then goes up with a cap of 7% - eeeek! Are there any honest modification co?

Re: Mortgage fraud increases in 2008

I believe it's by quarter but I'll check with Jay.

Re: Mortgage fraud increases in 2008

i agree al - appraisals were pretty much a joke for the past 5-7 years. up
up and away!!!

Re: Mortgage fraud increases in 2008

If you want to uncover mortgage fraud, just look at the appraisals, they
are often hilarious, unless you're the lender that relied upon them..
