This loophole is indeed going to be phased out. However, many lenders do not use the most current version of the FICO software, so for those lenders, the authorized user thing still works. It could work for years to come. I wouldn't count on it, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have mom and dad add you as an authorized user. All upside, no downside.
